About our Classes

Seated Yoga

Seated Yoga helps to increase breathing and flexibility. This is for you if getting on the floor could prove too challenging. Also great for anyone with mobility or weight issues, and those recovering from surgeries. The classes are 40 minutes long.

Z's Roller Yoga

Z's Roller Yoga helps rehydrate the connective tissue and balances the nervous system.  While exercise deals primarily with the musculoskeletal system, this class is a direct self-treatment of the neurofascial system (nervous & connective tissue system).  It is a great complement to everything that you are already doing to stay healthy.

Costs

Roller/Melt and YIN classes are $128 for 7 consecutive weeks. All other classes are $116 for 7 weeks. If you miss a class you can make it up in another class within your 7 week period of time. Sorry, no exceptions as we are a very small studio. We value and honor our students.

Hatha yoga uses the practice of the poses to rinse out the body and build a physical strength and endurance. It is the fundamental system of yoga that focuses on the pairing of poses with breathing techniques.

All Levels Flow (Vinyasa) is for the student who may have done some yoga or for the beginner who is looking for a more challenging practice. This class focuses on proper alignment, breathing, and balanced action. Yoga props are encouraged and modifications are given when needed. You will build steady heat and strength from the inside and end with deep relaxation, as every class ends @ Z's.

Gentle Yoga is a style of practice that focuses on stretching and breathing, not feats of strength or extreme flexibility. Excellent for a beginner. Still, you shouldn’t expect to spend the whole class in a supine position with a blanket. You may do standing postures, forward bends and strengthening poses in addition to mat seated stretches.

YIN Yoga works deep into the connective tissues to activate change at that deepest level. With passive (rather than active) postures, it challenges you to find peace in a position and hold that position for 3 to 5 minutes. Mostly on the floor, the postures work into the energy flows, or meridians, of the body.

Sheri

Yoga is the grounding principle that governs my life‘s path. I am grateful to be teaching at Z’s Body & Soul. Our students are like family. My hobbies are hiking, biking, walking with my dog. My passions are cooking and gardening and spending time with family.

One of Sheri's students Doug said,
"I have been in her Friday morning yoga class for over 5 years now. She is personable and an expert yoga instructor. Her passion for teaching is obvious! Her always positive, fun loving attitude makes each session a rewarding experience."

Z

A commitment to an extraordinary life, even with its many challenges, is my passion and the students who come to Z's Body & Soul with varied backgrounds and hopes uplifts my spirit.

I started meditating at 18, as well as began a regular yoga practice, studying with gifted teachers throughout my travels while working. I have been teaching Meditation since 1986 and am an E-RYT. My yoga teacher training was at Kripalu in 1986, with continued certifications in NIA, 2006, The Melt Method 2013, as well as many yoga weekends training to teach Restorative, Yin, Children's yoga and Yoga Nidra.

I incorporate breathing techniques in all my classes as well as creating the place to laugh and let go into each moment. Transformation occurs for the students as well as for me. I am blessed to be a part of our amazing community.

Melissa

If you’ve come into Z’s Body and Soul then we have probably crossed paths. I’ve been an esthetician for 24 years and also offer face and foot Reflexology. I grew up here in the Pacific Northwest and love everything outdoors. When I was younger if I wasn’t outside I was practicing gymnastics! Then I transitioned into doing yoga by age 20. As life has done what it does best, it gives us all twists and turns to navigate, I have found that yoga has been my saving grace in more ways than one. I’ve been teaching here at Z’s since 2019. I very much enjoy the connections, laugher and deeper understanding of Self that yoga has brought to my life. I hope to see you on the mat soon. Namaste       "Melissa's an excellent instructor!  She makes yoga rewarding, always encouraging us to reach  our full potential. I love her wisdom and enthusiasm, " from her student Rosie.
